Welcome to Jim's Combo Tee Golf
Jim's Combo Tee Golf app, calculates all the Tees Combinations that have a total yardage that is best for your golf skills.
The USGA provides guidance to golfers on how to select the tee color to play for maximum game enjoyment, and is based upon your average driver distance, not your handicap. Click here USGA Video
Many golf courses may not offer a tee with the yardage best suited for your drive distance. Some tees may be too long and others too short. For example, the San Clemente MUNI golf course has 4 tee color choices, Blue, White, Gold and Silver. Using the USGA formula, the Blue tees are best suited for golfers that typically drive 230 yards or more. The White tees are best for players with 218 yard drives, The Gold tees are best for 202 yard drives, and the Silver tees are best for players that drive 152 yards. If you are golfer with an average drive of 175 yards, the only way to achieve best distance if you are playing at the San Clemente MUNI is to use a combination of Gold and Silver tees.
For each 9 holes on a golf course, there are 512 combinations of any 2 tees. Each 2 tee combo, will have a yardage somewhere between the longest and the shortest of the tees. Jim's Combo Tee app calculates all 9 hole combo tee sequences that are within +/-7 yards. This yeilds a list of many unique combinations choices, each having a yardage suitable for your skill level. And Jim's Combo Tee app, estimates the adjusted Slope and Rating values to calculate your handicap for the sequence you select.
This app is a tool to find exactly which combos tee sequences, have a yardage total that fits your average drive distance. You may choose from the customized list and play any of the possible tee sequences, each having the same yardage (+/-7).
Once you have selected a Combo Tee sequence, the app calculates your handicap for that specific Combo using you golf Index (GHIN), and keeps your scorecard for stroke or Stableford game formats.
On each hole, play from the tee color shown in your selected Combo sequence. Count your strokes and use the app as your scorecard. A modified Stableford points format can be used with the addition of bonus points for good play around the green. It's a great fun game for groups of golfers of any skill level.
